As COVID-19 continues to spread in Massachusetts, we at Johnny’s Liquors and Henry’s Market, want to make sure we are doing everything in our power to keep our members, program participants, employees and their families safe. The current measures we are taking are in accordance with CDC guidelines.
We have enhanced our cleaning efforts by increasing our cleaning staff, increasing team cleans and conducting high-touch-cleaning across our facility to reduce the risk of any seasonal virus spreading. This includes disinfecting surfaces, thoroughly cleaning door knobs, tables, elevator buttons, and any high-traffic objects. We have increased the number of disinfectant dispensers and wipes throughout the facility and are encouraging everyone to wash their hands and refrain from touching their faces during activity.
We want to remind you that if you are feeling sick, or if you have come in contact with anyone potentially exposed to the virus, please stay home. Those most susceptible to the virus are the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. If you have someone living with you who could be at risk, please refrain from participating until the threat has passed. Over the next few days and weeks, there is likely to be a strong reaction from media and large, public and private institutions, like we've seen from Harvard. Please keep in mind that, according to Governor Baker, the concern right now is on gatherings larger than 250 people, at any one time our average daily attendance is well below that. With a small group of considerate participants we can help limit and control any potential exposure.
According to the CDC as of March 11, 2020, “For the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. There is not widespread circulation in most communities in the United States. For the latest updates on the coronavirus in Massachusetts, Click Here
